Specially appointed members of the Grand Tour have been designated as Water Marshals during this year's Grand Tour. They will be easily recognized, garbed in their fluorescent yellow vests worn over their PFD's. Provided with whistles and air horns, the Water Marshals job will be to safely shepherd participants of the tour along the established course. Supplied with two-way radios, the Water Marshals will keep in direct contact with each other in addition as well as the Land Support Crew and the Emergency Retrieval Crew in case assistance becomes necessary. ALL Grand Tour participants will follow the specific directions and commands of the Water Marshals.
