The most common question asked regarding any one-way PWC endurance trip is, "How do I get back to my tow vehicle and trailer?”  To the benefit of our participants, the Organizational Committee will once again implement the ideal solution to this question; the PWC Shuttle Transport.

The PWC Shuttle Transport will carry the participants, their personal gear, and their watercraft to Mackinaw City. This service proves to be a great success year after year. More than two-thirds of past participants have opted for this service slated for the day prior to the Grand Tour. For those wishing to take advantage of the shuttle service, we will meet at Brink Truck Lines (BTL) in Holland, Michigan, between 7:30 and 9:30am on Wednesday morning.

Under supervision of the Grand Tour staff, BTL will load and transport your watercraft (which should be full of fuel and oil) north to Mackinaw City on their enclosed semi-trailer. Simply deliver your watercraft to their facility.  Upon your arrival, your watercraft will be unloaded from your trailer and secured in their trailer for transportation. BTL provides professional transportation as they custom outfit their trucks with carpeted bunks and tie down straps to secure your watercraft. Also shipped inside the semi-trailer will be your full 5-gallon supplemental gas can and your two gallons of oil (for the few of you who still have ‘two-stroke’ engines.)

After dropping off your watercraft with BTL, participants will drive a short distance to Dutton Park, located on the north east end of Lake Macatawa in Holland, Michigan. This is where they will park their vehicles and empty trailers. Upon arrival at Dutton Park, participants will register with the Grand Tour staff. It is here the participants must turn in any outstanding pledges and forms that had not yet been submitted. During check-in, each participant of the Grand Tour will receive an official Grand Tour event T-Shirt. In addition, you will also be provided with your personal Event Badge, which should be with you at all times during the duration of the tour (see Registration). They will then load their gear and board a fully equipped motor coach bus as we prepare to travel north to Mackinaw City in ultimate comfort! Boarding of the motor coach takes place from 9:45 am. - 10:15 a.m. Departure is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. A lunch stop in route to Mackinaw City has been scheduled during the 4 1/2 hour bus ride.

Once the participants arrive in Mackinaw City, they will unload their personal gear and check into the Aqua Grand Mackinaw Resort. After they are settled into their rooms, those participants who have yet to register for the Grand Tour will have the opportunity to do so with tour staff sometime that afternoon.

At approximately 5:00 p.m., participants will begin making their way to the Mackinaw City's Municipal Marina to meet the BTL semi-trucks. Participants can either board a shuttle from the Grand Mackinaw Resort or make the enjoyable .7 mile trek to the Marina by foot. Once the BTL trucks arrive with the watercraft, the unloading process begins! With the beds of the semi-trucks at waters edge, we systematically begin to remove all the watercraft from the trucks. Each participant waits on the dock for their watercraft to be brought to the trucks edge. Once it's 'your turn', your watercraft is gently pushed into the water and brought over to the dock. Simply hop on, start it up, and make the 3/4 mile on-water drive to the beautiful beach of the Aqua Grand Resort. (Note: Please be courteous to other guests at the Aqua Grand Mackinaw Resort when beaching your watercraft. Remember that others at the hotel will be wishing to use the beach for swimming, etc. When beaching/anchoring your watercraft, please try to take up as little room on the beach as possible.)

To help manage and facilitate this optional service, each participant utilizing the PWC Shuttle Service will be accessed a $75.00 shuttle fee. The fee will cover the transportation of the participant, their personal gear, and watercraft. If you plan on being a passenger on someone else’s watercraft, or you are a member of the Land Support Crew (and you’re not having a watercraft transported), the Shuttle fee will be $50.00. Reservations for the PWC Shuttle Service are required and must be booked prior to July 1st. For additional details and information email the Grand Tour.ORGanization at mlabellesr@gmail.com or call (248) 515-1272

Individuals wishing to book accommodations in Holland for Tuesday night, the night before loading of watercraft, can contact the DoubleTree Inn. (A block of rooms have been reserved under the name of “Grand Tour” and are being held for participants.

Eppley Fundraiser in Ohio - Monday, May 16, 2011

A special "Thank You" goes out to riders Barb & Dean!  They ran another successful fund raiser for the Grand Tour this past weekend with help from riders Mary Lyn & Jim.  A portion of Barb's report is posted here:

"The rain was horrible but we made it through.  We had about 75 people.  Not as much as we expected.  There are pix's out there and I hope to be getting some soon.   The fire works, food and band we great!   The bird (chicken s**t bingo) did his job!...  Mary Lyn and Jim were a great help and with out them it would not have gone as  smoothly.  We are still collecting donations.  ...So better than last year!"
