MARINA REFUELING
Each on-water PWC participant will be responsible for purchasing (cash only) their own gas at each of the marinas that have been designated as refueling stops of the Grand Tour. To help assist you and keep the refueling process steadily on pace, Ground Support Staff and personnel from each of the marinas will be available to help in your refueling needs.
To further speed up the process, we will be asking all on-water participants to provide correct change when paying for their gas. In addition, all gas tallies will be rounded up to the nearest dollar. For example, Rider A refuels his/her watercraft and pumps $17.82 worth of gas. Rider A pays for his/her gas with (1) ten dollar bill, (1) five dollar bill, and (3) single dollar bills, totaling $18.00 leaving an over payment of $.18 cents.
GAS MONEY - PROVIDING EXACT CHANGE
Once again, to help facilitate the refueling process at the public and privately owned marinas, the Grand Tour.ORGanization is advising all on-water participants to provide correct change when paying for their fuel. Based on fuel estimations we have anticipated that you'll need approximately $200.00 for your refueling needs at the marinas throughout the tour. We suggest you to breakdown your gas money in the following denominations:
(13) Ten Dollar Bills (9) Five Dollar Bills (25) Single Dollar Bills
SPECIAL NOTE:
No marina gas purchases will be allowed with the use of a credit card! Sorry!
(TIP: You may wish to invest in a small water-proof container to store your money in.)
MANUAL REFUELING
While all of the refueling of your PWC will be handled at marinas (both public and privately owned), emergency fuel between will be available for purchase on an as-needed basis in case of fuel starvation concerns.
SPECIAL NOTE:
A Non-Smoking Policy will be implemented during all refueling. Anyone wishing to smoke during these refueling breaks MUST be a minimum of 200 feet away from the refueling area.
OIL FOR YOUR WATERCRAFT
Due to the variety of oil types and brands, we recommend that you bring a quart sealed in a large zip lock bag and pack it securely in your watercraft.
