For many enthusiasts, personal watercraft are more than recreational vehicles; they also allow us to relax and unwind from a hectic workweek. They are literally our "vehicles" of escape from the stress and worries that come from our fast pace lives. When you are out on the water, the last things you want to worry about are the complications that you've just left behind. And your ride on the Grand Tour should be no different. To help keep your worries trouble free, the Grand Tour.ORGanization has established, at no cost to you, an incredibly efficient and experienced Land Support Crew especially designed and equipped to assist all the participants of this year's Grand Tour.
Baggage Support Crew
Volunteers will assist in the transportation of participant’s personal gear throughout this year's three-day tour. Each morning, just prior to each day's ride or bus ride, bring your personal gear to the Baggage vehicle. The Baggage Support Crew will load your gear into an enclosed vehicle and provide transport to that night’s scheduled accommodations. ALL BAGS MUST BE CLEARLY MARKED AND LABELED WITH YOUR NAME AND HOME ADDRESS. Upon your arrival at that nights host accommodations, your luggage will be waiting for you in the lobby area of each resort.
SPECIAL NOTE:
Although your personal belongings will be handled to the best of our ability, the Grand Tour.ORGanization cannot take responsibility for lost, stolen and/or damaged items during transport. Please do not leave cash and/or valuables with your personal gear.
Refuel Support Crew
The Refueling Support Crew will assist tour participants with the transportation of their 5-gallon gas can and (2) Gallons of PWC oil throughout the weekend. While most of the refueling stops on the tour will be conducted at both public and private marinas, there are a few stops along the route that will require refueling of watercraft the old fashion way. Assisting in the refilling and transportation of your gas cans and oil containers for the watercraft, a Refueling Support Crew will meet the tour at specially appointed stops along the route. Again, make sure you provide a full 5-gallon gas container, two gallons of PWC oil, and $40 cash to the Grand Tour Official at Brink Truck Lines or when you register at Mackinaw City.
Emergency Retrieval Crew
Providing our direct link to land, a highly efficient Emergency Retrieval Crew will meet the tour at predetermined checkpoints along the route. Equipped with several PWC trailers and marine radios to stay in touch with the Grand Tour water marshals, the Emergency Retrieval Crew will assist in the removal of any watercraft due to rider breakdown, mechanical breakdown, or severe weather as they mirror our progress along the shoreline.
